Creating a Better Future is now offering financial help for Maaori, Pacific and South Asian students wanting to study nutrition, dietetics, sport and recreation or health promotion in 2012.
The following scholarships are available for Maaori, Pacific and South Asian students:
$5,000 Scholarships in Nutrition, Dietetics, Sport and Recreation and Health Promotion
Scholarships of up to $5,000 are available for tuition fees only for study on the following courses:
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition (Massey University)
- Bachelor of Sport and Recreation (Auckland University of Technology)
- Bachelor of Health Science in Health Promotion (Auckland University of Technology)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics (Otago University)
$2,500 Scholarships in Health Promotion
Scholarships of up to $2,500 are available for tuition fees only for study on the following course:
- Diploma in Health Promotion, Level 6 (Manukau Institute of Technology)
Applicants must:
- Be of Maaori, Pacific or South Asian ethnicity and live in Counties Manukau
- Be enrolled in the chosen course at the time of application
- Provide proof of identity, New Zealand residency and residential address
Applications will be assessed using criteria based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Further evidence to support the application may be requested during this process.
How to apply:
All applications must be submitted online through the Counties Manukau District Health Board’s Health Scholarship Programme.

Applications close on Friday 25 November 2011.
